  1. Metamorphosis is really an odds and sods album and is one of the obscure artifacts from the discography of the Stones! The music on this album is pretty much a collection of rare outtakes and snippets from the cutting room floor. The orchestral version of "out of time" is worth the admission alone! (one of my personal fav Stones track).

  3. Apr 12,  · The mid-'60s demos are unremarkable (with the exception of the Richards/Oldham composition 'I'd Much Rather Be With the Boys', a nifty little song even if it wasn't right for the Stones), but I'm giving "Metamorphosis" three and a half stars for the sweeping orchestral version of 'Out of Time' (far superior to the version on "Aftermath", in my humble opinion), Bill Wyman's mock-woeful /5(1K).
  4. And it's not bad at all: An orchestral "Out of Time" (a U.K. hit for Chris Farlowe with the same backing track), an alternate "Memo From Turner" (different from Mick's version from the movie Performance), a Bill Wyman outtake from the Beggars Banquet sessions and Stevie Wonder's "I Don't Know Why" done during the making of Let It Bleed are.

  6. “Out of Time” was released by The Rolling Stones as a single in , and most recently was featured in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. Metamorphosis features a terrific version of “Memo From Turner,” a Chess studio out-take “Don't Lie to Me” is a stellar Chuck Berry cover, while “Family”, the rocking.

  8. It was, for many years, the only album of Rolling Stones outtakes around. It has no chronological arrangement, however, the tracks are included willy-nilly. So, with that in mind, here is where they are sourced form: "Out Of Time" - recorded in Shorter than the extended version that appeared on "Aftermath". "Don't Lie To Me" - /5().
  9. Though it remains the only Rolling Stones outtakes collection album ever to be officially released, Metamorphosis is one of those albums that has been slighted by almost everyone who has touched it, a problem that lies in its genesis.6/
